Tranmere's dream run ended in the sixth-round of the FA Cup when a strong Liverpool arrived at Prenton Park with a future Ballon D'or Winner in Michael Owen and Champions League winner in Steven Gerrard. Despite the loss, The Super Whites showed their immense fight scoring two past a treble winning Liverpool of 2001.
In one of the Super Whites' biggest wins in the club's history, the John Aldridge managed side managed to brush off any threat Everton had to offer in a convincing and clinical 3-0 victory with Jason Koumas scoring the pick of the bunch just before the end of the first-half.
An unrelenting Tranmere Rovers demonstrated their ability at Prenton Park as they swept aside lowly outfit Brigg Town FC with an incredible long-range effort from Sean Flynn capping things off.
A strong Newcastle United took on a resilient Tranmere Rovers at St. James' Park but the Premier League side eventually found a way to get behind the defence and score the decisive winning goal thanks to Alan Shearer.
