By Joel Lampkin

Tranmere Rovers secured a 5-4 win away against Manchester Futsal to continue on in the FA Futsal Cup following a traumatic week for everyone at the club.

An announcement regarding the redundancy of Manager Damon Shaw fell under the radar due to the decision to close the football academy but a victory over a close rival will be a small moment of success for the hard workers involved.

The healthy distracted of the cup will be a welcome break following the pressure of the league with survival still not yet confirmed.

Tranmere have six games left to play in their domestic campaign but they have taken their eye of the ball and it will have paid off for the coaches and players after a terrific and well fought victory.

Rovers suffered a defeat at the hands of Manchester in league action last week but have responded brilliantly to get one over on the club that sit in the middle of the table to mark their first win over the club this year.
