Tranmere Rovers visit Rise Cycling Studio

By Peter Tscherewik

The Beast from the East has made it’s mark upon Merseyside, so much so that the club was forced into a postponement of this weekend’s game against Gateshead.

Adverse conditions have meant that the team have had to re-think their plans with regards to training, with all grass pitches at Solar Campus out of action for the time being.

Micky Mellon arranged for the club to have boxing training on Tuesday, a five-a-side session on Thursday, and a spinning class session on Friday.

We travelled down to Rise Cycling Studio in Liverpool to oversee the squad take a 40-minute session, and managed to catch up with Rovers winger Ben Tollitt and spinning instructor Harriet Igglesden to talk about fitness, fun and dealing with the conditions and the players.

Tranmere’s next fixture is scheduled for March 10, where they face-off against fellow play-off hopefuls Dagenham and Redbridge.
