We might be into the month of March but the weather has dealt a blow for everyone who was looking forward to Tranmere welcoming Gateshead to Prenton Park this Saturday.
Adverse conditions throughout the North West and across the UK have forced the club into postponing the match until a later date. A photo surfaced on Twitter this Tuesday showing the Prenton Park fully covered in snow.

Although some would argue that the game has been postponed early with today being a Thursday, the club were quick to clarify that the pitch would be unsuitable to play on.
A statement on the official Rovers site read, “Tranmere Rovers’ first team fixture against Gateshead at Prenton Park on Saturday has been postponed as parts of the playing surface are frozen and further adverse weather conditions are forecasted for the coming days.”
Considerations also had to be made with regards to transport for the travelling away fans, and for those travelling via Merseyrail train services to Rock Ferry due to industrial action taking place.
The fixture is expected to be rescheduled fairly soon, and we at Tranmere Talk will release all details in terms of dates when they are released on our Twitter page.
