Tranmere Rovers vs Bromley FC – Man of the Match

By Peter Tscherewik

Tranmere registered their ninth successive domestic home win against Bromley on Saturday, as they scraped passed the visitors by a goal-to-nil.

After the final whistle we asked you to vote for your man of the match out of Jay Harris, Adam Buxton, Steve McNulty and Scott Davies.

We can now reveal that your man of the match was the returning right-back, Buxton!

The 25-year old was the runaway winner in the poll, racking up a whopping 44% of the vote. Buxton’s closest candidate was Harris, who ran his socks of in the heart of Tranmere’s midfield.

Buxton was pivotal in Rovers’ attacking approach, particularly in the first-half of the encounter as he rallied up and down the right flank.

The right-back bagged an assist for Connor Jennings’s winning goal and his ability to pick out a pass from range proved to be a constant problem to the Bromley defence.

Liam Ridehalgh had been standing in as an unconventional (being left-footed) right-back in the absence of Buxton, and the return of Bucko against Bromley has just shown how important he may yet be in the Super Whites promotion push.
