Wrexham vs Tranmere Rovers – Man of the Match

By Peter Tscherewik

Tranmere picked up a valuable away point at the Racecourse Ground against play-off rivals Wrexham, with the game finishing 2-2.

After the final whistle we asked you to vote for your man of the match out of Jay Harris, Adam Buxton, Ollie Norburn and Steve McNulty.

We can now reveal that your man of the match was our captain fantastic, McNulty!

The 34-year old narrowly won the vote with 40%, just ahead of full-back Buxton who 36% of you thought deserved the accolade.

McNulty was involved in a strong, physical battle with Wrexham’s number nine Scott Quigley throughout the 90 minutes and for the most part, kept him at bay.

Tranmere may well have let in two goals but if it weren’t for the efforts of the defender, Quigley and Wrexham may well have scored four or five past Rhys Taylor.

A special mention has to go out to second-placed Buxton for taking to the pitch despite the passing of his grandfather on the eve of this fixture. From everyone at Tranmere Talk, our thoughts are with Bucko and his family at this time.
