While Tranmere Rovers are currently in a state of poor form, the man between the sticks has been at fault for few of the goals conceded – but how does Scott Davies rank among the rest of the National League shot-stoppers?
The goalkeeper has racked up the third highest amount of clean sheets, only second to Macclesfield Town’s Shwan Jalal and high flying Dover’s Mitch Walker.
With a penalty save crediting to Davies in the previous fixture against The Silkmen, his efforts went largely unnoticed due to the follow up being tapped home by Scott Wilson but his contributions throughout the game was hard to miss.
Tallying up the amount of catches that the no.1 made throughout the game got into double figures, with many awkward balls flying into the box, that the goalkeeper caught with ease.
With Tranmere conceding just 18 goals in the league this season, much of that stat can be rested upon the shoulders of Davies, as he has helped his side keep a positive goal-difference for the meantime.
Since arriving from Fleetwood Town, the 30-year-old has featured 114 times for The Rovers keeping 47 clean-sheets so far, an impressive 41% out of of goalless score-lines in his favour.
