Tranmere Rovers have confirmed the one-month loan signings of Josh Kay and Ollie Banks from Barnsley and Oldham Athletic respectively.
Banks, 25, is a midfielder whose previous clubs include Rotherham United, Chesterfield and now Oldham.
The experienced playmaker has also had loan spells at Stalybridge, Sheffield, Buxton and Northampton Town, but will now look to help improve Tranmere’s depleted midfield.
The Super Whites have further bolstered that help by adding Josh Kay, 21, another midfielder, from Championship side Barnsley.
Kay signed for the Yorkshire side from AFC Fylde in February of last year, and has since featured heavily for the U23 set up.
He made his first-team debut Bristol City in the 2016/17 season, and appeared on the bench numerous times throughout the campaign, before completing a loan spell back at Fylde for the remainder of the season.
Rovers boss Micky Mellon will be hoping the two new additions can, at least temporarily, stem the flow of the ever-growing injury list.
